As we enter into April 2020 it’s full steam ahead with the virus raging, the lockdown extended, the hoarding of supplies increasing and nerves frayed to the limit. This has resulted in many giving up hope, surrendering to the atmosphere of conflict, chaos and combat and raising the flag of pessimism and defeat. But for those of us placed in the royal priesthood of a chosen generation, the peculiar people of God’s holy nation, this is not where we fold the tent. This is where we dig in and stand firm. This is where we suit up and endure hardship as good soldiers of Jesus Christ. This is where we remember our instructions in Ephesians 6: 10-18 which says “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
This is where we decide to trust the Lord no matter what. As stated in Revelation 14: 12 “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
The joy of the Lord is your strength, dear ones. By humbly and sincerely submitting to the Majesty on High, you may come boldly unto the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in your time of need. And by your faith, even though it may be as small as a grain of mustard seed, you have access to that throne of glory where you receive power from being in the marvellous presence of the Creator of the universe.
What kind of power? Power to live right. Power to walk right. Power to love right. Power to talk right. Indescribable power supplied by the blood of the Lamb Who sacrificed everything for us all and now sits on the right hand of God making intercession for us . You are more than a conqueror through Him that loved us so whatever your battle is, whatever your trial is, just rejoice, believe and receive. Receive and use that power which only comes from our loving God and gives us the ability to fight on victoriously in Jesus’ name!
I pray that the grace of God almighty may strengthen, support and sustain you all both now and in the days ahead.
