The Word of God is a composite of spiritual truths, the trustworthiness of scripture and the transcendent nature of both Old and New Testament narratives. It can also be described as the inerrant, infallible and immutable Word of God. In other words, because the Word is based exclusively on Truth, it's rendered free from errors and omissions and there's no uncertainty or doubt about its authenticity.
That being said, what is truth? Well, and based on the true meaning sealed in the scriptures: Truth is that which is consistently reliable and trustworthy, and based exclusively on the character and revealed will of God, by His spirit and in His word. Moreover, the Truth is real, it will persist to exist, and is thus eternal. Jesus, himself, proclaimed before Pilate "Everyone that is of the truth heareth my voice", and Pilate's response was, surprisingly (?), "What is Truth?" (John 18 :37-38) The Bible also teaches: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." (John 1: 1, 14)
Through the preceding progression and examination of the Word and Truth, we arrive at the undisputed truth of the pre-incarnate Christ and His true identity as the Word of God. He makes available His redeeming grace by His volitional and sacrificial death on a cross to save sinful humankind from eternal damnation. His nature is transcendent, as he proclaims of Himself: "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. But there are some of you that believe not..." (John 6: 63, 64)
There were even those who the devil successfully deceived, because they refused to believe and went their own way. Know this, the Book of Proverbs issues a warning concerning such folly: "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Proverbs 14:12) Had they guarded against the hardening of their hearts; they would have escaped the foil of their folly. As Jesus proclaimed in His word: "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32)
Even today, there are those who are guilty of not believing and have chosen similarly. If we examine His words closely, they actually reveal the essence of life: life is not a matter of living, but a matter of giving. Jesus chose to suffer and serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. What are you willing to give up, as an act of sacrificial service and in faithful preparedness for the coming Kingdom?
In conclusion, though our global community has been literally paralyzed as a result of the COVID-19 calamity, we remain armed with the power of prayer, faith, hope and love. Therefore, let us collectively and fervently pray for each other, our families, our communities, our cities, our nation and other nations. The words of the Psalmist are abundantly clear: "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance." (Psalm 33: 12)
